My name is Iaia and I grew up in the North of Italy. I am currently living in a small village between mountains and sea in the beautiful island of Mallorca. I still have a foot in Madrid though, where I spent ten years working as freelance photographer and art-director.
My experience covers projects for advertising, commercial brands and private clients in a wide range of fields: creative portrait sessions, product, food, interiors, lifestyle photography with a focus on creating visual content for social and web.
I am a passionate storyteller especially if the subjects are makers, inspiring creators or cooks. I love shooting with natural light and fulfill my pictures with organic but lively chromatic palettes and textures.
I am a self-taught photographer, in fact I am an architect and I collected my degree in Design and Architecture studying between Milan and Berlin. During those years I discovered analogic photography, which was my point of departure, and later on, I started to work as a photo editor for a fine art studio. It came slowly and naturally to transform my visual expertise into a real work once I moved to Spain.
One of the things I spontaneously took away from my home country is our typical indulgence around the table and this capability of talking about food and related contents for hours, literally. I suppose it was natural at some point to mix my love for photography and my curiosity about food themes. Since I started my own food blog under the name of Picniquette I continued to feed and grow my passion for food photography and styling and all the products related to this content.
When I am not shooting or travelling, I enjoy spending my time cooking to gather people, especially on a picnic;), taking care of my veggies backyard small garden, playing the cello or having slow walks to the beach or to the mountain around my village foraging wildflowers and edible plants.
